Philanthropy: The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation Was founded by Phi alumna Elizabeth Glaser, her sister Susie Zeegen, and a friend. Elizabeth found that she and her children were infected with HIV and later contracted AIDS. She started the pediatric AIDS Foundation in an attempt to educate and raise money specifically for pediatric AIDS. She lost her daughter to AIDS in 1988, and in 1994 after Elizabeth's death, the foundation was renamed in her memory.
