Philanthropy: The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation was founded by Phi alumna Elizabeth Glaser, her sister Susie Zeegen, and a friend. Elizabeth found that she and her children were infected with HIV and later contracted AIDS. She started the pediatric AIDS Foundation in an attempt to educate and raise money specifically for pediatric AIDS. She lost her daughter to AIDS in 1988, and in 1994 after Elizabeth's death, the foundation was renamed in her memory. Every Fall semester our chapter raises money for the Foundation at an event called Pheast with Phis, a late night all-you-can-eat buffet. We invite all our friends and advertise the event around the school in order to get as many people as possible to come to our event. It's a huge undertaking and always turns out to be a great success!
